大利烏王第二年六月初一日,耶和華的話藉先知哈該向猶大省長撒拉鐵的兒子所羅巴伯和約撒答的兒子大祭司約書亞說: [NASB] In the second year of Darius the king, on the first day of the sixth month, the word of the LORD came by the prophet Haggai to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying, |

萬軍之耶和華如此說:「這百姓說,建造耶和華殿的時候尚未來到。」 [NASB] "Thus says the LORD of hosts, 'This people says, "The time has not come, {even} the time for the house of the LORD to be rebuilt."'" |
1:3 |
那時耶和華的話臨到先知哈該說: [NASB] Then the word of the LORD came by Haggai the prophet, saying, |

「這殿仍然荒涼,你們自己還住天花板的房屋麼? [NASB] "Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses while this house {lies} desolate?" |
1:5 |
現在萬軍之耶和華如此說:你們要省察自己的行為。 [NASB] Now therefore, thus says the LORD of hosts, "Consider your ways! |
1:6 |
你們撒的種多,收的卻少;你們喫,卻不得飽;喝,卻不得足;穿衣服,卻不得暖;得工錢的,將工錢裝在破漏的囊中。」 [NASB] "You have sown much, but harvest little; {you} eat, but {there is} not {enough} to be satisfied; {you} drink, but {there is} not {enough} to become drunk; {you} put on clothing, but no one is warm {enough;} and he who earns, earns wages {to put} into a purse with holes." |

萬軍之耶和華如此說:「你們要省察自己的行為。 [NASB] Thus says the LORD of hosts, "Consider your ways! |
1:8 |
你們要上山取木料,建造這殿,我就因此喜樂,且得榮耀。這是耶和華說的。 [NASB] "Go up to the mountains, bring wood and rebuild the temple, that I may be pleased with it and be glorified," says the LORD. |
1:9 |
你們盼望多得,所得的卻少;你們收到家中,我就吹去。這是為甚麼呢?因為我的殿荒涼,你們各人卻顧(原文是奔)自己的房屋。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。 [NASB] "{You} look for much, but behold, {it comes} to little; when you bring {it} home, I blow it {away.} Why?" declares the LORD of hosts, "Because of My house which {lies} desolate, while each of you runs to his own house. |

所以為你們的緣故,天就不降甘露,地也不出土產。 [NASB] "Therefore, because of you the sky has withheld its dew and the earth has withheld its produce. |

我命乾旱臨到地土、山岡、五榖、新酒,和油,並地上的出產、人民、牲畜,以及人手一切勞碌得來的。」 [NASB] "I called for a drought on the land, on the mountains, on the grain, on the new wine, on the oil, on what the ground produces, on men, on cattle, and on all the labor of your hands." |

那時,撒拉鐵的兒子所羅巴伯和約撒答的兒子大祭司約書亞,並剩下的百姓,都聽從耶和華他們神的話和先知哈該奉耶和華他們神差來所說的話;百姓也在耶和華面前存敬畏的心。 [NASB] Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their God had sent him. And the people showed reverence for the LORD. |

耶和華的使者哈該奉耶和華差遣對百姓說:「耶和華說:我與你們同在。」 [NASB] Then Haggai, the messenger of the LORD, spoke by the commission of the LORD to the people saying, " 'I am with you,' declares the LORD." |

耶和華激動猶大省長撒拉鐵的兒子所羅巴伯和約撒答的兒子大祭司約書亞,並剩下之百姓的心,他們就來為萬軍之耶和華他們神的殿做工。 [NASB] So the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and worked on the house of the LORD of hosts, their God, |
