俄巴底亞得了耶和華的默示。論以東說：我從耶和華那裏聽見信息，並有使者被差往列國去，說：起來吧，一同起來與以東爭戰！
[NASB] The vision of Obadiah. Thus says the Lord GOD concerning Edom-- We have heard a report from the LORD, And an envoy has been sent among the nations {saying,} "Arise and let us go against her for battle"-- |
| 1:2 |
我使你以東在列國中為最小的，被人大大藐視。
[NASB] "Behold, I will make you small among the nations; You are greatly despised. |
| 1:3 |
住在山穴中、居所在高處的啊，你因狂傲自欺，心裏說：誰能將我拉下地去呢？
[NASB] "The arrogance of your heart has deceived you, You who live in the clefts of the rock, In the loftiness of your dwelling place, Who say in your heart, 'Who will bring me down to earth?' |

你雖如大鷹高飛，在星宿之間搭窩，我必從那裏拉下你來。這是耶和華說的。
[NASB] "Though you build high like the eagle, Though you set your nest among the stars, From there I will bring you down," declares the LORD. |
| 1:5 |
盜賊若來在你那裏，或強盜夜間而來，你何竟被剪除豈不偷竊直到彀了呢？摘葡萄的若來到你那裏，豈不剩下些葡萄呢？
[NASB] "If thieves came to you, If robbers by night-- O how you will be ruined!-- Would they not steal {only} until they had enough? If grape gatherers came to you, Would they not leave {some} gleanings? |

以掃的隱密處何竟被搜尋？他隱藏的寶物何竟被查出？
[NASB] "O how Esau will be ransacked, {And} his hidden treasures searched out! |
| 1:7 |
與你結盟的都送你上路，直到交界；與你和好的欺騙你，且勝過你；與你一同喫飯的設下網羅陷害你；在你心裏毫無聰明。
[NASB] "All the men allied with you Will send you forth to the border, And the men at peace with you Will deceive you and overpower you. {They who eat} your bread Will set an ambush for you. (There is no understanding in him.) |

耶和華說：到那日，我豈不從以東除滅智慧人？從以掃山除滅聰明人？
[NASB] "Will I not on that day," declares the LORD, "Destroy wise men from Edom And understanding from the mountain of Esau? |
| 1:9 |
提幔哪，你的勇士必驚惶，甚至以掃山的人都被殺戮剪除。
[NASB] "Then your mighty men will be dismayed, O Teman, So that everyone may be cut off from the mountain of Esau by slaughter. |
| 論以東遭災的原因 |
| 1:10 |
因你向兄弟雅各行強暴，羞愧必遮蓋你，你也必永遠斷絕。
[NASB] "Because of violence to your brother Jacob, You will be covered {with} shame, And you will be cut off forever. |
| 1:11 |
當外人擄掠雅各的財物，外邦人進入他的城門，為耶路撒冷拈鬮的日子，你竟站在一旁，像與他們同夥。
[NASB] "On the day that you stood aloof, On the day that strangers carried off his wealth, And foreigners entered his gate And cast lots for Jerusalem-- You too were as one of them. |
| 1:12 |
你兄弟遭難的日子，你不當瞪眼看著；猶大人被滅的日子，你不當因此歡樂；他們遭難的日子，你不當說狂傲的話。
[NASB] "Do not gloat over your brother's day, The day of his misfortune. And do not rejoice over the sons of Judah In the day of their destruction; Yes, do not boast In the day of {their} distress. |
| 1:13 |
我民遭災的日子，你不當進他們的城門；他們遭災的日子，你不當瞪眼看著他們受苦；他們遭災的日子，你不當伸手搶他們的財物；
[NASB] "Do not enter the gate of My people In the day of their disaster. Yes, you, do not gloat over their calamity In the day of their disaster. And do not loot their wealth In the day of their disaster. |
| 1:14 |
你不當站在岔路口剪除他們中間逃脫的；他們遭難的日子，你不當將他們剩下的人交付仇敵。
[NASB] "Do not stand at the fork of the road To cut down their fugitives; And do not imprison their survivors In the day of their distress. |
| 1:15 |
耶和華降罰的日子臨近萬國。你怎樣行，他也必照樣向你行；你的報應必歸到你頭上。
[NASB] "For the day of the LORD draws near on all the nations. As you have done, it will be done to you. Your dealings will return on your own head. |
| 1:16 |
你們猶大人在我聖山怎樣喝了苦杯，萬國也必照樣常常地喝；且喝且咽，他們就歸於無有。
[NASB] "Because just as you drank on My holy mountain, All the nations will drink continually. They will drink and swallow And become as if they had never existed. |
| 1:17 |
在錫安山必有逃脫的人，那山也必成聖；雅各家必得原有的產業。
[NASB] "But on Mount Zion there will be those who escape, And it will be holy. And the house of Jacob will possess their possessions. |
| 1:18 |
雅各家必成為大火；約瑟家必為火焰；以掃家必如碎；火必將他燒著吞滅。以掃家必無餘剩的。這是耶和華說的。
[NASB] "Then the house of Jacob will be a fire And the house of Joseph a flame; But the house of Esau {will be} as stubble. And they will set them on fire and consume them, So that there will be no survivor of the house of Esau," For the LORD has spoken. |
| 1:19 |
南地的人必得以掃山；高原的人必得非利士地，也得以法蓮地和撒瑪利亞地；便雅憫人必得基列。
[NASB] Then {those of} the Negev will possess the mountain of Esau, And {those of} the Shephelah the Philistine {plain;} Also, possess the territory of Ephraim and the territory of Samaria, And Benjamin {will possess} Gilead. |

在迦南人中被擄的以色列眾人必得地直到撒勒法；在西法拉中被擄的耶路撒冷人必得南地的城邑。
[NASB] And the exiles of this host of the sons of Israel, Who are {among} the Canaanites as far as Zarephath, And the exiles of Jerusalem who are in Sepharad Will possess the cities of the Negev. |

必有拯救者上到錫安山，審判以掃山；國度就歸耶和華了。
[NASB] The deliverers will ascend Mount Zion To judge the mountain of Esau, And the kingdom will be the LORD'S. |
