| 蝗災帶來的慘狀 |

耶和華的話臨到毗土珥的兒子約珥。
[NASB] The word of the LORD that came to Joel, the son of Pethuel: |
| 1:2 |
老年人哪，當聽我的話；國中的居民哪，都要側耳而聽。在你們的日子，或你們列祖的日子，曾有這樣的事麼？
[NASB] Hear this, O elders, And listen, all inhabitants of the land. Has {anything like} this happened in your days Or in your fathers' days? |

你們要將這事傳與子，子傳與孫，孫傳與後代。
[NASB] Tell your sons about it, And {let} your sons {tell} their sons, And their sons the next generation. |
| 1:4 |
剪蟲剩下的，蝗蟲來喫；蝗蟲剩下的，蝻子來喫；蝻子剩下的，螞蚱來喫。
[NASB] What the gnawing locust has left, the swarming locust has eaten; And what the swarming locust has left, the creeping locust has eaten; And what the creeping locust has left, the stripping locust has eaten. |
| 1:5 |
酒醉的人哪，要清醒哭泣；好酒的人哪，都要為甜酒哀號，因為從你們的口中斷絕了。
[NASB] Awake, drunkards, and weep; And wail, all you wine drinkers, On account of the sweet wine That is cut off from your mouth. |
| 1:6 |
有一隊蝗蟲（原文是民）又強盛又無數，侵犯我的地；他的牙齒如獅子的牙齒，大牙如母獅的大牙。
[NASB] For a nation has invaded my land, Mighty and without number; Its teeth are the teeth of a lion, And it has the fangs of a lioness. |

他毀壞我的葡萄樹，剝了我無花果樹的皮，剝盡而丟棄，使枝條露白。
[NASB] It has made my vine a waste And my fig tree splinters. It has stripped them bare and cast {them} away; Their branches have become white. |
| 1:8 |
我的民哪，你當哀號，像處女腰束麻布，為幼年的丈夫哀號。
[NASB] Wail like a virgin girded with sackcloth For the bridegroom of her youth. |
| 1:9 |
素祭和奠祭從耶和華的殿中斷絕；事奉耶和華的祭司都悲哀。
[NASB] The grain offering and the drink offering are cut off From the house of the LORD. The priests mourn, The ministers of the LORD. |
| 1:10 |
田荒涼，地悲哀；因為五穀毀壞，新酒乾竭，油也缺乏。
[NASB] The field is ruined, The land mourns; For the grain is ruined, The new wine dries up, Fresh oil fails. |
| 1:11 |
農夫啊，你們要慚愧；修理葡萄園的啊，你們要哀號；因為大麥小麥與田間的莊稼都滅絕了。
[NASB] Be ashamed, O farmers, Wail, O vinedressers, For the wheat and the barley; Because the harvest of the field is destroyed. |
| 1:12 |
葡萄樹枯乾；無花果樹衰殘。石榴樹、棕樹、蘋果樹，連田野一切的樹木也都枯乾；眾人的喜樂盡都消滅。
[NASB] The vine dries up And the fig tree fails; The pomegranate, the palm also, and the apple tree, All the trees of the field dry up. Indeed, rejoicing dries up From the sons of men. |
| 約珥的警告和哀求 |
| 1:13 |
祭司啊，你們當腰束麻布痛哭；伺候祭壇的啊，你們要哀號；事奉我神的啊，你們要來披上麻布過夜，因為素祭和奠祭從你們神的殿中斷絕了。
[NASB] Gird yourselves {with sackcloth} And lament, O priests; Wail, O ministers of the altar! Come, spend the night in sackcloth O ministers of my God, For the grain offering and the drink offering Are withheld from the house of your God. |
| 1:14 |
你們要分定禁食的日子，宣告嚴肅會，招聚長老和國中的一切居民到耶和華你們神的殿，向耶和華哀求。
[NASB] Consecrate a fast, Proclaim a solemn assembly; Gather the elders {And} all the inhabitants of the land To the house of the LORD your God, And cry out to the LORD. |
| 1:15 |
哀哉！耶和華的日子臨近了。這日來到，好像毀滅從全能者來到。
[NASB] Alas for the day! For the day of the LORD is near, And it will come as destruction from the Almighty. |
| 1:16 |
糧食不是在我們眼前斷絕了麼？歡喜快樂不是從我們神的殿中止息了麼？
[NASB] Has not food been cut off before our eyes, Gladness and joy from the house of our God? |
| 1:17 |
穀種在土塊下朽爛；倉也荒涼，廩也破壞；因為五穀枯乾了。
[NASB] The seeds shrivel under their clods; The storehouses are desolate, The barns are torn down, For the grain is dried up. |
| 1:18 |
牲畜哀鳴；牛群混亂，因為無草；羊群也受了困苦。
[NASB] How the beasts groan! The herds of cattle wander aimlessly Because there is no pasture for them; Even the flocks of sheep suffer. |
| 1:19 |
耶和華啊，我向你求告，因為火燒滅曠野的草場；火焰燒盡田野的樹木。
[NASB] To You, O LORD, I cry; For fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness And the flame has burned up all the trees of the field. |
| 1:20 |
田野的走獸向你發喘；因為溪水乾涸，火也燒滅曠野的草場。
[NASB] Even the beasts of the field pant for You; For the water brooks are dried up And fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness. |
