（At the bookstore）

Peter: I need some post it page markers Sam: Post-it page markers?

Linda: They’re small pieces of paper that people use to mark pages.

Peter: It’s spelled “p-o-s-t-i-t.”

Sam: Oh, here they are!

Peter: Yes. They come in different shapes. colors and sizes. Some are even
in the shapes of bones, bears and butterflies!

Linda: the Post-it notes that I often use are in the shape of a frog. I like to use
them in my notebook and dictionary.

Peter: We use then at home , too. My parents leave us messages on post it
notes.

Sam: I have an idea now! Let’s write down all our Christmas wishes on post-it
notes We can paste them all on the wall to form a giant dragon for our
classroom decoration.

Linda: I’m proud of you, Sam. You are one of the smartest guys that I know.

The Story of Post-it Notes

Post-it notes play an important part
in modem life. They are seen in offices
school, And at home. But who invented them?

Art Fry, a famous scientist in the USA.
sang in church every Sunday. He like to 
mark his pages in the sing book with small
pieces of paper. But they kept falling out
He was often mad because of that. One day,
an idea came into Art’s mind. He talked
to Spencer Silver, another scientist that Art
worked with. After that, Art decided to use
a special glue which Spencer invented.

Art brushed the glue on the on the of
his bookmarks and found they worked well.
These “bookmarks ”were also great for
writing notes. Soon post-it notes appeared
on the market.

Today post-it notes are used and enjoyed
everywhere. The trouble Art used to have  
is no longer a problem for you and me.
