對於文英的死訊，台大醫院中午相當低調，堅稱未經家屬授權，不便公布相關細節。文英菸齡數十年，幾乎是菸不離手。她經常咳嗽，但不以為意。今年2月至台大醫院就診，確定為三期肺腺癌，已經到了末期，癌細胞已擴散出去。

文英3、4月間先後接受兩三種標靶藥物治療，但效果不佳。半個月前病情急遽惡化，又住進台大醫院治療，情況仍不樂觀。

末期肺癌患者肺葉容易積水，一旦積水，就會喘不過氣，相當痛苦，必須透過儀器引流抽水，治療過程相當困難，讓她好幾次都想放棄。上午文英情況突然危急，經院方全力搶救，但仍回天乏術。

新聞局長蘇俊賓中午表示非常遺憾，他說，文英從民國42年迄今，在電影、電視留下許多令人深刻、難忘的畫面，對台灣貢獻很大，相信文英率直、善良的特質，令人緬懷。

Auroras are produced by the collision of charged particles from Earth's magnetosphere, mostly electrons but also protons and heavier particles, with atoms and molecules of Earth's upper atmosphere (at altitudes above 80 km (50 miles)).
