A French television station performed a death game experiment recently.
In the experiment, the participants needed to ask another player who was actually played by an extra some questions. If the extra said the wrong answer, the participants could punish them with electric shocks.
The current for the shocks could reach a maximum of 460 volts, but the extra was only pretending to be electrocuted. If it weren't for the fact that the actor was acting, the extra would have died from the shocks.
What was alarming was that among the 80 participants, only 16 insisted on withdrawing from the competition.
All the others did not stop the electrocutions even when the extra begged. The participants followed all the orders of the show's host to kill.
Dialogue Example:
(Compassion) Rachel and Eric see a beggar on the side of the road when they are shopping. Rachel feels very compassionate and takes NT100 from her wallet and gives it to the beggar.
Eric:
Eric:You are just too kind. I can't believe you gave him money.
Rachel:
Rachel:I feel sorry for him.
Eric:
Eric:I don't think so.
Rachel:
Rachel:You are so cruel.
Eric:He is just using your sympathy, so he can earn money without working.
Rachel:
Rachel:But he was handicapped.
Eric:
Eric:He might be lying.
Rachel:
Rachel:If it was a scam, he has really good acting skills.
