俄媒稱中國PLZ-07式122毫米自行榴彈炮性能先進

    據俄羅斯“潛望鏡2”網站6月16日報道，中國《坦克裝甲車輛》雜志2010年第7期刊載一篇文章，介紹國產新型PLZ-07式122毫米自行榴彈炮。文中指出，這是中國第三代122毫米榴彈炮，作為參加過2009年國慶60周年大閱兵的最新式武器樣品之一，受到了廣泛關注。

    性能先進的PLZ-07式是國產第3代122毫米自行榴彈炮，之前兩代產品分別是70/70-1式(使用63式裝甲運輸車底盤)和85式(出口型)、89式(內銷型)。中國期刊指出，PLZ-07式自行榴彈炮是在中國第二代步兵戰車基礎之上研制而成的，這裏的“第二代步兵戰車”指的應該是以俄制BMD-3“瓜園”傘兵戰略為基礎研制而成的ZBD-04履帶式步兵戰車，中國第一代步兵戰車則是蘇制BMP-1步兵戰車的克隆品。PLZ-07車長6.66米，寬3.28米，高2.5米，總體配置上與89式自行榴彈炮類似，裝配一門122毫米PL-96榴彈炮，炮塔頂上有一挺12.7毫米機槍。榴彈炮戰鬥全重24.5噸，與基礎型步兵戰車相比重了許多，因此不具備浮遊功能。之所以放棄兩棲性能，是因為其頭部形狀有較大變動，車首更鈍，去除了防波擋和噴射流推進器。

    PLZ-07式自行榴彈炮乘員5人，1名炮長，1名瞄準手，2名裝填手，1名機械師兼駕駛員，其中駕駛員位于戰車左前部的駕駛室內，裏面裝有各種操縱裝置、儀表和駕駛員計算機，其余4人在炮塔內的指揮室裏，炮長在火炮的前右位置，瞄準手在前左位置，2名裝填手分坐其後。指揮室內有計算機，用于處理導航信息和發動機工作信息。駕駛室前面裝配3個潛望觀察儀，中間的那個可以根據需要替換成夜視儀。車內有自動滅火係統。中國期刊介紹指出，PLZ-07式122毫米自行榴彈炮採用二代步兵戰車的輕型履帶式底盤和封閉炮塔，總體布置與其他自行火炮結構形式基本相同，即動力傳動裝置前置、戰鬥室後置。右前部為動力傳動裝置，此處裝有發動機、變速箱、傳動裝置和操縱裝置等。戰車中後部為戰鬥室，裝有1門國產PL-96式榴彈炮，以及炮控裝置、火控係統、觀瞄裝置、無線電臺、射擊指揮計算機等。該炮還裝有超壓集體三防裝備、滅火係統、六聯裝電控煙幕彈發射器等特殊防護裝置。

    PLZ-07式自行榴彈炮使用544馬力水冷柴油機，公路上最大行進速度可達到65公裏/小時，行程500公裏。由于廣泛採用在155毫米PLZ-05式自行榴彈炮上驗證過的優越技術，能夠確保自行火炮射擊時的穩定性。據稱，PL-96榴彈炮具有先進的內部和外部彈道，射程遠，而且後坐力較小，可在高低(垂直角)0-70度、左右方向(不必旋轉炮塔時的水平角)22.5度范圍內射擊，可以在炮塔旋轉中的任何角度開火，可以使用專門研制的新型122毫米榴彈，也可使用舊式122毫米榴彈。發射底凹彈時最大射程18公裏，發射底排彈時最大射程22公裏，發射底排動力火箭增程彈時最大射程27公裏。

    PLZ-07式高自動化火炮具有手動、半自動和自動3種操作模式，以自動操作模式為主，在此模式下作戰班組可借助火控計算機指揮連(營)所有火炮同時瞄準開火，瞄準、射擊、校正都能自動完成。在自動化水平和信息係統飽和度方面，PLZ-07式122毫米自行榴彈炮絲毫不遜色于PLZ-05式155毫米火炮和PLL-05式120毫米火炮，它使用高效裝彈機制，能夠保障最大射速達到每分鐘6-8發，可攜帶的彈藥基數為40發。發射底凹彈時在最大射程上的地面密集度距離不超過1/300，方向不大于１密位。

    中國期刊文章特別指出，122毫米PLL-05式、122毫米PLZ-07式和155毫米PLZ-05式組成了中國國產自行火炮的三位一體，能夠遂行分隊(營或連)、部隊(旅或團)和兵團(軍或師)級別作戰單位的戰鬥任務，提供中遠距離的火力支援，對敵方工事、火力點、裝甲目標進行火力壓制。相應的，PLZ-07式屬于旅團級自行火炮係統，能在停止行進1分鐘後開炮，再過3分鐘恢復行軍。中國曾向某個曾被稱為“老大哥”國家的代表展示過PLZ-07式火炮的信息化水平和反應速度，一度令他們非常震驚，因為他們自己並沒有任何能與之比擬的同類武器。這個“老大哥”國家自然是指俄羅斯，由此得出了中國火炮比俄羅斯火炮性能先進的結論。(編譯：書山)

印度採購M777輕型牽引榴彈炮

WASHINGTON --- The Defense Security Cooperation Agency notified Congress Jan. 22 of a possible Foreign Military Sale to India of 145 M777 155mm Light-Weight Towed Howitzers with Laser Inertial Artillery Pointing Systems (LINAPS) and associated parts, equipment, training and logistical support for a complete package worth approximately $647 million.

The Government of India has requested a possible sale of 145 M777 155mm Light-Weight Towed Howitzers with Laser Inertial Artillery Pointing Systems (LINAPS), warranty, spare and repair parts, support and test equipment, publications and technical documentation, maintenance, personnel training and training equipment, U.S. Government and contractor representatives’ technical assistance, engineering and logistics support services, and other related elements of logistics support.

The estimated cost is $647 million.

This proposed sale will contribute to the foreign policy and national security of the United States by helping to strengthen the U.S.-India strategic relationship and to improve the security of an important partner which continues to be an important force for political stability, peace, and economic progress in South Asia.

India intends to use the howitzers to modernize its armed forces and enhance its ability to operate in hazardous conditions. The howitzers will assist the Indian Army to develop and enhance standardization and to improve interoperability with U.S. Soldiers and Marines who use the M777 as their primary means of indirect fire. India will have no difficulty absorbing these weapons into its armed forces.

The proposed sale of this equipment and support will not alter the basic military balance in the region.

The principal contractors will be, BAE of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; Watervliet Arsenal of Watervliet, New York; Seiler Instrument Company of St Louis, Missouri; Triumph Actuation Systems of Bloomfield, Connecticut; Taylor Devices of North Tonawanda, New York; Hutchinson Industries of Trenton, New Jersey; and Selex, Edinburgh, United Kingdom. There are no known offset agreements proposed in connection with this potential sale.

Implementation of this proposed sale will require annual trips to India involving up to eight (8) U.S. Government and contractor representatives for technical reviews/support, training, and in-country trials for a period of approximately two years.

There will be no adverse impact on U.S. defense readiness as a result of this proposed sale.

This notice of a potential sale is required by law and does not mean the sale has been concluded.

    據亞洲防務網1日報道稱，一位印度高級國防官員稱，印度政府決定向美國採購145輛超輕型美制野戰炮。這些野戰炮可由直升機運輸，將配備給部署在高緯度地區的印度陸軍山地師，用來對抗巴基斯坦和中國。

India To Let Singapore Technologies Join Howitzer Trials

NEW DELHI - The Indian government has allowed the Army to invite formerly banned Singapore Technologies to participate in trials to purchase 155mm/52 caliber towed artillery guns.

The company had been banned, along with six other defense companies, in June 2009 in connection with alleged corruption charges. However, the government's move now will allow trials to be held within a month, said a senior Indian Army official.

A senior Indian Defence Ministry official said that even if it wins, Singapore Technologies will not be given a contract until it is cleared of all charges by India's Central Bureau of Investigation.

In March 2008, the Indian Army had floated a tender for the off-the-shelf purchase of 400 155 mm/52 caliber towed artillery guns and the licensed production of approximately 1,180 guns on a transfer-of-technology basis.

Tenders were given to eight companies from Europe, Asia and the Middle East, but in the end the Army's Technical Evaluation Committee qualified only BAE Systems and Singapore Technologies.

Singapore Technologies is also competing to sell 155mm ultra light artillery guns, although it is unclear if the company will be allowed to participate in field trials, Indian Defence Ministry sources said.

Serbia evolves indigenous 122 mm howitzer

Serbia's D-30/04 Samokhodno ORudye Artilerii (SORA) 122 mm self-propelled howitzer (SPH) project has entered its second development phase.

The project, which began in 2004 (hence the '04' in its designation), is being undertaken in three phases by the Serbian military technical institute VTI (Vojnotehnicki Institut), responding to requirements set out by the Serbian Ministry of Defence's Planning and Development Directorate.

During the first phase the VTI designers undertook studies and embarked on the construction of a functional model of the weapon. After its March roll-out, it underwent a series of initial firing trials, involving about 18 rounds, the first three of which were conducted with reduced charges and the remainder with full charges.

Improvements were subsequently made to the stabilisation system, whose forward-facing stabilisers proved unable to adequately absorb the recoil forces during firing. Another goal was to demonstrate loading of the weapon at all elevation angles, and this was successfully achieved, according to VTI.

In Phase 1 the ammunition was loaded by hand, but it is planned to introduce an autoloader in Phase 2, plus new ammunition that will give a longer range using the standard 39.5-calibre barrel, which is 4,819 mm long.

Afghanistan: Arrival of the CAESARs

On Saturday August 1, 2009 three CAESAR (Camion Equipé de Système d’Artillerie, or truck fitted with artillery system) arrived at Kabul airport.

From their advanced operational bases, these self-propelled artillery pieces are intended to provide fire support to combat operations conducted by the Kapisa Groupement Tactique InterArmes (GTIA, or Joint Combined Tactical Group) and the French Battalion in Surobi.

They are operated by the 3rd Régiment d’Artillerie de Marine (marine artillery regiment) stationed in Canjuers, and are being deployed for the first time in a combat zone. In all, eight Caesar vehicles will be deployed to Afghanistan.

 GRAFENWOEHR, Germany --- Improvements in technology and weaponry are dire necessities in modern warfare. They achieve success on the battlefield and enable Soldiers to complete successful missions in support of the ongoing Global War on Terrorism.

On July 24, Soldiers from the 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment FIRES Squadron became the first unit in Europe to fire the Army's new M777 Howitzers at the Joint Multinational Training Command's Grafenwoehr Training Area.

"Being the first unit in Europe to fire this new weapon is an amazing honor," said Sgt. 1st Class Steven Jarvis, a section chief with the 2SCR. "This is the high point in my career. This is a big deal for an artillery Soldier and something to remember for a long time."

The M777 Howitzer replaces the M198 Howitzer as the premiere weapons system in Field Artillery. It is lighter, more accurate and requires less crew members.

"The lightweight M777 Howitzer will increase the capabilities of our artillery batteries because it is more versatile and can be transported to any location much faster than its predecessor the M198 Howitzer," Jarvis said. "The M198 only has three point of contact and weighs 16,000 pounds, while the M777 maintains five points of contact to the ground for better stability, and weighs only 10,000 pounds."

"Stability increases the weapon's accuracy, which will increase our success in Iraq and Afghanistan," added Jarvis.

The Soldiers of the unit will continue to train with the new M777 Howitzer. The Joint Multinational Training Command plays an integral role in helping the 2SCR train, while continuing to help the Army modernize by facilitating the testing of new equipment and weaponry in Europe.

"The Joint Multinational Training Command provides the greatest training in the Army," Jarvis said. "This training area is the only area in Europe that units can do live-fire missions with large weapons, which prepares us for contingency operations downrange."
