Here are Ezra Pound's translations of some Chinese poems. They certainly belong to the "beautiful, but not faithful" category.

There is one advantage of these translations. It is much easier to understand because they are in modern English while the original Chinese are ancient.
I have no clue as to what's in [道德經], other than the first two sentences, but one day a friend of mine gave me an English translation and I have no problem with it.
