( Based on Literature by Kriszner & Mandell)
Character's Words:
(a)a monologue: an extended speech by one character=> It reveals the character's feelings, communicating information to other characters and to the audience. If a monologue is directed at the audience and presumed not to be heard by other characters, then it is called a soliloquy.
(b) dialogue : an exchange of words between two characters. It reveals misunderstanding or conflict between characters and shows their agreement, mutual support, or similar beliefs. Thus, characters' statements can convey information important to the play's action and to the development of its theme.
Script Writing:
We all know that telling lies is not a very smart way to solve problems. Do you tell lies to people? What kind of situation makes you lie?
In the show, Lying is Bad, Isabel tries to fool Yvonne by telling her that she can fish a lot of gold in the lake. How does Isabel trick Yvonne and how does Yvonne feel after she finds out the truth ?
In the second show, The Bad Day, Yvonne lies to her mom about her grades. Can she fool her mother? How does her mother tell Yvonne that honesty is the best policy?
