Mike Oldfield ，英國作曲家 / 製作人， 14 歲時就與姐姐合組民謠二重唱， 1973 年出版的《 tubular bells 》，為恐怖經典電影《大法師》增添陰森懾人的氣氛。專輯中 Mike Oldfield 親自演奏了近 30 項的樂器，不僅被譽為樂器天才，其中電子合成器的運用，也被視為日後新世紀音樂的起源之一，《 tubular bells 》成為他不朽的代表作， 1992 與 1998 年更出版了《 tubular bells 》的第二、三集續作。 70 年代，他尚有一些演奏專輯出版，不過由於憂鬱的個性與壓力雙重影響， Mike Oldfield 處於精神崩潰邊緣，因此他過著隱士的生活甚至接受治療。 80 年代，專輯《 qe2 》是他另一張代表作品，而從《 five miles out 》、《 crises 》專輯之後，流行的元素再加入女歌手的客串主唱都使他的音樂聽來爽朗，似乎已走出陰霾、詭譎的心理狀態。 moonlight shadow 這首歌因為 groove coverage 的翻唱和樂隊的走紅，這首曆久不衰的老歌又被大家重提。 moonlight shadow 是 Mike Oldfield 嘗試加入人聲演唱來豐富旋律情感寫出的暢銷佳作之一

其實 Mike Oldfield 演唱版的歌曲都是做出來請別人唱，不過都不是掛演唱者的名字，因為都發表在 Mike Oldfield 的專輯中，只有專輯內頁的介紹才會說 vocal 是誰 .moonlight shadow 的最早原唱是 Maggie Reilly 。

Maggie Reilly ，蘇格蘭人， moonlight shadow 最早版本原唱歌手。 1992 年，她發佈了她的首演獨奏冊 Echoes ， 1993 年 Midnight Sun ， 1996 年 Elana

原版的風格很輕鬆，慢節奏聽起來很自在
