Google Offers Free Software Bundle By Sandy Berger
There's nothing better than getting good stuff for free. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, it sure feels great! Well, Google is doing their part to make you feel great with the introduction of an excellent collection of free software they call the Google Pack. Download all the programs or just those you're interested in, and if you already have any of the titles, only updates will be installed.
The Google Pack includes:
Google Earth - this phenomenal mapping program that lets you see any location on earth in map or satellite view.
Picasa - a full-featured photo editor and organizer.
Google Pack Screensaver - this tool will enable you to turn photos from your personal collection into a screensaver.
Google Desktop - with this desktop helper, you can search your hard drive for e-mail, files, and other data.
Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer - a multi-purpose tool that allows you to perform a search from any web page. It has a pop-up ad blocker, highlighter, translator, spell-checker, and much, much more.
Mozilla Firefox with Google Toolbar - this web browser is a great alternative to Internet Explorer. It offers tabbed browsing and many other excellent features, and is more secure than Internet Explorer.
Norton Antivirus 2005 Special Edition - this full version of one of the most popular anti-virus programs on the market includes a free 6-month subscription for updates.
Ad-Aware SE Personal - a solid anti-spyware utility that will detect and remove spyware.
Adobe Reader 7 - this program allows you to view, print and search PDF (Portable Document Files) that are commonly found on the Web.
Google Talk - this Voice Over Internet utility also acts as an Instant Message client. With a microphone and speakers on your computer, you can call any other computer running Google Talk and talk just as you would on the telephone. It can save a bundle on long distance charges!
The other programs included in Google Pack, are RealPlayer audio and video player, Trillian instant messenger, and GalleryPlayer HD Images, which contains some nice quality artwork. Google Pack contains free software that's useful and easy to use. It doesn't get much better than this!
