我的好友在 1999 年 12 月在USC 醫院換肝成功。

他患肝硬化超過 10 年。換肝成功有如重生得到第＝次的生命。

在 1999 年 10 月從台灣飛來美國，進入史丹福大學醫院。在醫學評估後，列入換肝等候名單。

二個月的等候不到機會，他於是轉院到 USC 醫院。1999 年 12 月終於等到換肝機會且成功順利得到重生。

台灣換肝技術不錯，不過捐贈器官者風氣猶低，不容易得到肝臟移植，盼望日後觀念可以改善。

My friend, Owen, got his liver transplanted in December 1999 in University of Southern California Hospital.

He was suffering the liver CIRRHOSIS more than 10 years. It is a miracle to him to have his 2nd life after liver transplant. He seems re-born in 1999 and he is a only 6 years old boy.

He was flying from Taiwan in October 1999 and admitted to Stanford Hospital in California. After a medical evaluation was completed, he was placed on the liver transplant waiting list with UNOS (United Network for Organ Sharing). The waiting time depends on the patient blood type, size and general medical condition. However, after two months waiting in Stanford Hospital, he flied to USC Hospital looking for better chance to get a liver donor, and he GOT it in December 1999.
