The camp is designed for children who are interested in the activities at all ages.
此次夏令營設計適合所有年齡層的孩子。
We are glad to have Paula join us.
非常歡迎 Paula 的加入。
Parents are also welcome to attend the camp as our companions; however, it is not a must.
父母如果對活動有興趣，也歡迎一同加入營隊體驗。父母並非一定要陪同孩子。
This is the first time that the studio holds the camp.
The idea is to start with a small group not exceeding ten students so that in the future we might be able to invite more people to have fun with us.
此次活動為兒童文學工作室所舉辦的第一屆，因此，將以學生人數不超過十人的小團體方式進行。
以期為日後能邀請及嘉惠更多學子一同共襄盛舉做準備。
There will be two teachers taking care of the camp.
One is Camilla, the other is Karen who is a graduate student of Children's Literature from NTTU.
此次營隊由 Camilla 和 Karen 帶領。Karen 為國立台東大學兒童文學研究所碩二生。
We will arrange a homestay in Taitung city.
住宿方面將安排台東市區民宿。
As soon as we confirm the payment of the camp,
we will offer you further information including the details of the address and the phone number of homestay.

Dear Denise,

The purpose of the studio is to help our children learn actively,
which means that they shall be able to be responsible for their own reading.
If Candy loves to spend more time reading at home than before, she has made some progress.
I have also noticed that Candy's writing is neater.
She is able to express her thoughts and can focus on the discussion in class as well.
Candy's learning ability is improving.
I feel excited about her being able to be responsible for herself.
It is not Candy's learning ability that I am worried;
however, it is Candy's health that I am concerned.
She seems to have the problem of stuffy nose for quite some time.
I wonder if she feels comfortable.
I always encourage Candy drink more water during break time.
A healthy body and a happy mind is the foundation of learning.
I am sure that Candy will enjoy her reading more with her ruddy cheeks.
I am looking forward to having Candy in class.

"Children's Dictionary" published by Scholastic is a nice one. The size of the words are suitable for children.
When Candy grows older, she can use "The American Heritage Dictionary," or " Random House Webster's Dictionary."

Dear Madeleine,

Thank you for sharing the joy with me. That is exactly the reason why I have this studio.
I've always hoped to see the children learn out of their own curiosity and passion,
which takes time to form the habit; however, Howard has made this dream come true.
I've always believed that our goal is never a castle in the air.

As for the books we will be using for Reading Club on 5/2 and 6/6 are
Romeo & Juliet(NT 175) and Robin Hood(NT 112).
The total for the books is NT 287.

I'm looking forward to discussing the books with Howard as well.
If Howard and you have time after class on June 6,
maybe we can spend half an hour discussing The Treasure Island and Romeo&Juliet.
If the other children are interested in our discussion,
they might join us as well. ^ ^

Dear Camilla,

Howard has been reading "Treasure Island" several times. He even read the other two versions of "Treasure Island".

I can see his desire of reading books and really happy that he enjoys reading so much. I just feel sorry that he cannot join your discussion of his thought after reading the book face to face. It's a valuable moment that kids can share their own thoughts with each other.

Don't worry about speaking Chinese to me. Chinese is my mother language.
中文是我們的母語，您當然可以用中文和我對話。
I will explain every question that you need to know clearly and slowly
so that you can understand what I am trying to say.
然而在回答您的問題時，我仍會使用英文，但是我會盡量讓您理解我所要表達的意思。
The reason why I choose English as the language to communicate with everyone
is actually trying to offer an English-speaking environment.
我之所以選擇以英文溝通是為了營造英語溝通環境。

Through this effort, children will understand the importance of using the language.
Also they might know how to respect each other while communicating with another language speaking people.
透過這樣的努力，孩子們能更了解語言的重要性；同時，也學習如何尊重使用不同母語國家語言的人。

Although there might be inconvenient sometimes; however, it creates a chance for people to unerstand each other patiently and appreciate the differences of the languages and cultures. (It is also the best way to educate the children through our interaction!)
雖然溝通過程也許會有所不便；但是，卻能讓彼此有機會耐心聽對方表達意見，並藉此欣賞與尊重彼此語言和文化思維的不同。(這會是最佳的身教喔！)

I do encourage you to speak in English as well. The more often we use the language, the more fluently we will be able to express our ideas. Thus we will be able to learn together.
因此，希望也能有此榮幸邀請您一塊兒加入以英語溝通，讓我們一起營造學習環境。多說常用，就更能駕馭該語言。

As Chinese speakers, we definitely need to master our own language. Speaking English is just a way to communicate with people from other foreign countries.
中文是我們的母語，我們當然須精通自己的語言。而藉由英語，我們多了機會和世界各國的人溝通。

And that is only a small part of the reasons why I focus on literature teaching.
語言是文學教學的媒介，因此，想當然必得先能理解該語言。

Cultivating souls and minds, realizing our own values and esteeming people
are more important missions to do. As long as we think positively and have the right attitude, we will be more responsible for ourselves.
心智啟發、了解自我價值和彼此尊重是兒童文學工作室的首要課題。一但有了正向思考，態度積極，也就更能對自我負責。

Learning English is just a beginning. It is without doubt that children have the talent of learning all kinds of languages. Although literature learning takes time, I have a strong belief that together we will be able to create more creative and meaningful lives!

學習英語只是一個開始，孩子對於各種語言學習是屬於天賦本能。文學學習過程需要時間累積；透過文學，我們所能獲得的將會是比語言更多的創造與思考積極意義。

1. Writing Club has its class on June 13th.
Writing Club 在六月份改為第二星期六上課(6/13)，不便處請見諒。

The tuition for each class is NT 800. You may pay for the three classes at one time or you can pay monthly.

每一堂學費為 800 元，可以一次繳交三堂，也可以每月繳交。

2. The book(What your third grader needs to know) along with the handout is NT 400.

書本教材費 400 元包含What your third grader needs to know一書(原則上使用一年)以及補充資料。

Kevin 他在情感面的表達比較保守

但是一陣子沒上您的課他就會一直問

Basically, both Club C and Club D belong to the first grade and most of the members are first graders as well.

俱樂部 C 和俱樂部D 大部分為一年級讀者。

Members in Club D might be junior than those in Club C.

俱樂部 D 的年齡層有可能比俱樂部 C 小一些。

As for the clubs in every 2nd&4th week are currently reserved.

雙週六的俱樂部目前保留不開放。

The tuition is suggested to be paid every month; however, the courses for each club are designed for a year.

學費於每月繳交，然而每一個俱樂部的課程規劃則是一年。

Our learning focuses on the literature and is also based on the

Core Knowledge Series the resource books designed for

kindergarten through grade six.

學習以文學為主，並輔以由代爾所出版的基礎知識系列叢書。該叢書從幼兒至六年級皆有詳盡規劃。教師會斟酌內容予以講授。

We use the book of What your first grader needs to know published by Dell Publishing

as our reference book in Club C and D.

As the goal of the studio is for children to learn from literature which takes time to form a habit of reading,

we strongly recommend students attend every class.

There is no refund of the tuition payment for any absence.
