   Mme Arman de Caillavet  黑髮碧眼機智通曉四國語言的猶太人, 是諾貝爾文學獎得主Anatole France 的情婦, 也是《泰綺思》Thaïs (1890) 、《紅百合》( Le Lys rouge (1894)兩書的靈感來源. 她與Anatole France的沙龍盡邀巴黎精英如作家演員律師, 但因不喜音樂故獨缺音樂家.書中維爾迪蘭夫人對音樂的可笑反應可能便因緣於此.
