拜訪山神

我們不會常去山裡。
每次總會順到那裡。
上一枝香，

行一個禮。

老妻會合十默禱。
大概為全家平安，
不會為升官發財。

我也會跟著默禱。
也只為國泰民安，
更不為富貴錢財。

人如老需要更會小 ，

企求少胸懷多愉快。

人之生天賦並不等。
求安樂何必比高矮。
不平安富貴有何樂？
國不泰安樂那裡來？

那裡人家不多，

工作悠閒，
他應是位快樂的主管。

鳴禽唱的婉轉。
山花開的燦爛。

杜鵑謝了，
桐花接上，
九重葛長年招展。

A Visit to a Mountain God

We don't go to the mountain often,
but every time would go to there.
Offer him a piece of incense,
bow to him with sincerity.

My old wife would make

a devout and silent prayer.
It’s only for the safety

and health of my family.

No professional promotion

not about fortune and money.

I would follow her manner

also make a silent prayer.
It’s for the peace and safety

of my people and country.

Neither about promotion,

nor about fortune and family.

Age is old, need to be small.

Desire is less, joy to be more.

Humans are not all created

with equal talent and ability.

Seek happiness and safety,

not richness and authority.

What’s the felicity of being rich and noble

but you are not safe and healthy?

If the country is not stable and peaceable

how can we be safe and wealthy?

There are not many people

living around and amid here.
He surely can enjoy an

easy and happy career.

Song birds are melodious.
Mountain flowers are splendid.

Azalea is over,
vernicia succeeds.
Bougainvillea blooms

long around the year.
