這13家連鎖餐廳中,我最熟悉的是:Denny’s;出差、旅遊、和未成家前的夜生活時間,它都是我落腳、休息、或糊口的好去處。其次是Wendy’s、Jack in the Box、和TGI Fridays;Outback Steakhouse則只光顧過它在敦北/南東那家一次。或許,這也是一個「時代」結束的指標。
These days, eating out has been more on the expensive side of things.
As a result, customers are picking and choosing when to go to restaurants due to affordability.
But that of course has an impact on the restaurant industry. In fact, there are several restaurant chains that are likely to go bankrupt or close this year, according to FinanceBuzz.
Long John Silvers
Are Americans passing on Long John Silvers because they don’t want to take a gamble on fast-food fish?
After shuttering 150 locations in three years, the brand only has under 500 locations still in operation. Last year, the chain rebranded its logo by adding chicken, in hopes of luring in customers, but who knows if the tactic will work.
The beloved restaurant chain filed for bankruptcy in late 2024 due to capital structure failures. By 2025, after a plethora of closures, fewer than 100 TGI Friday locations are left across the nation.
But here’s some good news for the chain. The brand is looking to revamp and expand to 1,000 locations.
Outback Steakhouse
The chain once had 750 dining locations but ended 2025 on anything but a high note. As the number of locations decreased, parent company Bloomin’ Brands announced in October that over 40 restaurants would be shuttering its doors. Half of those closings were due to lease expirations as more locations shuttered in 2024.
As a result, there are now less than 670 locations operating.
But to dig themselves out of a whole, the company has a “comprehensive turnaround strategy.”
Wendy’s
Wendy’s announced the closing of hundreds of locations throughout 2026 last year, and 140 location closures have already been made. The closures were an attempt to increase performance and profitability as the chain grappled with declining U.S. sales and net income.
CEO Ken Cook said the underperforming locations weren’t elevating the brand.
What’s even worse? More closures seem to be on the horizon.
Boston Market
This is bad news for longtime fans. The popular restaurant chain only has around 15 locations that are currently operational.
That’s a huge fall from grace since the chain once had over 1,200 locations.
Owner Jay Pandya attempted to file for bankruptcy repeatedly since 2020 but was banned in 2024 from filing again for at least six months.
The future of the homestyle chain seems incredibly bleak due to the fact that 95% of locations have been closed since 2022.
Other restaurants that are headed down the same path according to FinanceBuzz are: Smokey Bones; On the Border; Bar Louie; Hardee’s; Denny’s; Jack in the Box; and Noodles & Company.
