美國國務院發言人柯比今天說，對於香港銅鑼灣書店陸續有股東和職員失蹤，美國深感不安與關切，會密切留意事態發展。
柯比（John Kirby）下午在每日例行新聞簡報會，作出上做表示。
銅鑼灣書店股東桂民海、李波和3名職員近兩個月相繼失蹤，有人懷疑，最後失蹤的李波是在香港被大陸執法人員帶走；香港行政長官梁振英4日表示，他和特區政府非常重視此事，為不影響警方調查，目前不宜披露太多訊息。
但梁振英當時強調，「內地（大陸）」人員不能在港執法，如果有大陸人員在港執法，這不能接受且違反基本法。
柯比則指出，美國注意到也認同梁振英的看法，對書店股東失蹤的報導感到不安與關切；美方將密切關注事態發展。
相關報導指出，失蹤的書店股東中有人擁有英國籍，也有人是瑞典公民，但是北京當局表態，「香港事務全屬中國內政，任何外國都無權干涉」。
銅鑼灣書店因販售涉及中國大陸政治及中共領導人的敏感書籍，加上大股東李波曾致電妻子表示要「協助調查」，香港社會因此高度懷疑，相關人員的失蹤與中共當局有關。

Kirby notes that United States notes also agree that Mr LEUNG's views, bookstore shareholder unease and concern at the reports of disappearances; the United States will closely watch developments.
Related reports that missing British nationality to the shareholders who own the bookstore, while others are Sweden citizens, but the authorities in Beijing said, "Hong Kong Affairs are China's internal affairs and no foreign country has the right to interfere."
Bookstore, Causeway Bay for selling sensitive books involved in County politics and party leaders, coupled with major shareholder Li had called his wife to "assist", Hong Kong society and therefore highly suspect, of disappearance of persons associated with the Communist authorities.
